Safety Town Volunteering

For students entering grades 6-7

Safety Town volunteers assist young students as they are introduced to safety awareness and preventative practices through a variety of interactive activities.

Volunteer Requirements

  1. You enjoy working with children.
  2. You are finishing fifth or sixth grade this year.
  3. You accept the responsibility of personally assisting four pre-kindergarten children during each day of the session for which you volunteer. You must be present every day.
  4. You attend a volunteer orientation meeting on Monday, May 14, from 4:15-4:45 p.m. in the gym at Fairmeadows Elementary, 807 23rd Street, West Des Moines.

Please Note: Spots fill very quickly, and registrations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Students may only volunteer for one session per summer.
